1.  PowerOLAP® Server Version 22 Upgrade (from Version 18)    

  NOTE: PARIS Technologies will provide you with a download of the setup files for    PowerOLAP® Version 22   

   

  1. RECOMMENDED: Close and back up all PowerOLAP Server files.   
  2. Go to Task Manager and select the Services tab.   
  3. Locate PowerOLAP Server; right-click on it and select Stop.
  4. Locate the setup file for the PowerOLAP Server; if required, unzip.                                                          [Note: the PowerOLAP Server program may be 32 or 64bit; the following images show 32bit, but the         same procedure applies for 64bit].
  5. Right-click on the setup.exe; select Run as Administrator (see following image).
  6. You will be asked if you want to allow this app to make changes to your device; click Yes.
  7. The PowerOLAP Server – InstallShield Wizard screen will appear (as below). Click Next to proceed.   

   

       

                    8. The License Agreement and Maintenance Agreement screens (next two images) will appear.   To proceed,                         Accept the agreements by clicking Next.   

    

    

   

   

    

                    9.You will be notified that the installation/update to PowerOLAP Version 22 is completed  (see next image).   

    

    

    

                        10. Click Finish.

                        11. Return to Task Manager and click on the Services tab. Find PowerOLAP Server:

                                rightclick and select Start. 

                        12. Go to the Windows Start button and start typing PowerOLAP Service Control Program. IMPORTANT:                                 Right-click and Run as Administrator (as shown in the next image).   

   

                        13. You will be asked if you want to allow this app to make changes to your device; click Yes.   

The PowerOLAP Server Version 22 screen will appear—your Server upgrade is completed! At this point you may wish to open PowerOLAP files on the Server.   

   

    

   

   

 

 

2.  PowerOLAP® Client Version 22 Upgrade (from Version 18)     

   

  1. Save your work in PowerOLAP and Excel and close both programs.                                                                    Stop the PowerOLAP Service Control Program (see Steps 2 and 3 in previous section)
  2. Locate the setup file for the PowerOLAP Client; if required, unzip. 
  3. Right-click on the setup.exe; select Run as Administrator, as in the following image. 
  4. You will be asked if you want to allow this app to make changes to your device; click Yes.  
  5. The PowerOLAP Client Components – InstallShield Wizard screen will appear (as below). 

Click Next to proceed.   

    

   

    6. The License Agreement and Maintenance Agreement screens (next two images) will appear.   To proceed,         Accept the agreements by clicking Next.   

   

    

    

    

    

    

    7. You will be notified that the installation/update to PowerOLAP Version 22 is completed  (see next image).

    8. Go to the Windows Start button and start typing PowerOLAP.   

IMPORTANT: Right-click and Run as Administrator, as shown below.    

   

The PowerOLAP Version 22 splash screen will appear (see image next page) and the program will launch: your PowerOLAP Client upgrade is completed.
